OVER 80 YEARS OF TRADITION, COMMITMENT & COMMUNITY

From our early beginnings in 1936 at French’s Hotel to today’s expansive clubhouse, Eagle Lake Sailing Club has grown to become one of the premier sailing organizations in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana. Home to 5 world-class racing fleets – Laser, MC Scow, Snipe, National One Design, Thistle – as well as numerous pleasure sailors and an active Optimist and Laser Junior sailing program, ELSC has a long history and commitment to the sport of sailing.

Host to annual fleet regattas and an active events calendar during the sailing season, ELSC upholds the traditions of the past as well as looks to the future through the strong commitment of our diverse membership from all walks of life and of all sailing abilities. Nearby to South Bend, IN and the University of Notre Dame and just 2 hours from Chicago, IL, Eagle Lake Sailing Club is the place to sail in Michiana.

“All combined sailing made me a better person with an appreciation of the outdoors – it took some belt tightening to sail in some of those high winds and weather, but sailing helped to develop character and sportsmanship and carried over into high school, college and the business world.” — ELSC Member (circa 1940)
